Carolina Ritchie, MA, LPC
I grew up in the bustling suburbs of Southern California for most of my life before moving to Kansas City after college. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Behavior and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I have had the privilege of working with individuals and couples from various walks of life. As a 1.5-generation Korean-American immigrant, I have also spent my life navigating the beautiful tension that lies among my multifaceted cultural identities. Honoring the values and customs of my native culture while living in a Western framework has not always been easy, but it has strengthened my capacity to sit with clients in the often uncomfortable tension that lies between two seemingly-conflicting experiences.
MY APPROACH
I operate out of an attachment-based framework and enjoy using emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) to help couples identify unmet needs that are driving their relationship and rebuild connection. I also use an experiential modality called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) to help individuals process trauma, attachment wounds, and unresolved emotions.
Let’s connect.
