Trauma Therapy in Overland Park, KS

$130 per 50-minute session

Trauma doesn't always look like a single dramatic event. Sometimes, it's a specific experience that still feels close no matter how much time has passed. Other times, it's something quieter and more cumulative: years of not feeling safe, seen, or supported in the ways you needed. However it shows up for you, trauma has a way of staying in the body and shaping how you move through relationships, stress, and everyday life long after the events themselves have ended.

My work with trauma draws on attachment theory and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). These approaches treat healing as something that happens in relationship, not in isolation. Rather than asking you to retell painful events in detail before you're ready, we'll move at a pace that your nervous system can tolerate, paying close attention to what's happening for you moment to moment. Together, we'll work to build the safety and trust that trauma often makes hard to access, so that your body and emotions are part of the healing process.

Over time, this work can help you feel less controlled by old patterns of fear, shutdown, or hypervigilance. You’ll be able to trust yourself and connect with others in new ways. You don't have to have the full story figured out to start. My hope is to offer a steady, attuned presence as you move toward feeling safer in your body, your relationships, and your life.
